I love it. I know there are some questions regarding the use of a tangless receiver with this chassis. My setup is with a tangless receiver, 4.5" BBL, and 5" suppressor, and I have no problems with it tilting or anything like that with such a short BBL (provided the take-down screw isn't over-torqued - a key consideration). A 16"+ BBL may very well be an entirely different story. But mine is perfectly fine, and the reason I like the LN chassis with this setup is that the fore-end reaches almost to the end of the BBL+suppressor combo, providing additional purchase and protection for the offhand, while also allowing just a sufficient smidgen of real estate on the end of the suppressor to easily remove it without necessarily taking down the chassis from the action.
This is very well machined and finished. I had purchased a standard/original chassis about 2 years prior and have loved it. This long nose version did not disappoint. It drives you to spend more either by using KIDD products, or by paying a machinist to add the tang to your factory receiver, but it was worth it. I stuck with a factory Ruger Charger for now and had it machined. The only improvement I could hope for would be for them to check their picatinny rail specs; both have been extremely tight when adding name-brand aftermarket accessories.
I have a Volquartsen Receiver and the long nose chassis works and fits perfectly. Highly recommended..
I am impressed with the quality and the light weight of this chassis it is also nice that it is already milled out for the kidd rear tang if your looking to get this chassis I would recommend that you get the kidd rear tang on mine the reciver and barel moved around alot I had my factory reciver milled out and it works great
It looks and feels great
Fit and finish are great. Love the look and feel. Would buy this product again. But most likely I would get the regular and not the long nose. Would want the next 10/22 build lighter and more compact.
I was hoping that I would be able to put a regular receiver in the chassis. There as a lot of rocking of the barrel without the rear tang. I had to reconfigure another gun to use my kidd receiver with your stock. Maybe I read your website wrong or it wasn’t clearly stated
We are sorry that the chassis was not what you expected. We updated the description to try to make it more clear that the Long Nose chassis is for receivers that have a rear tang.
I bought two of the long nose chassis and they were both nicely machined products with excellent Anodizing. Looking forward to buying a take down chassis here in the near future and would not hesitate to buy from these folks again.
The long nose chassis is a great product and I would highly recommend this if your planning on building a custom 10/22 using a KIDD receiver. There is a space precut for the KIDD tang which provides a second point to lock-in the receiver to the chassis and looks amazing.
Disclaimer: if your using a factory Ruger receiver be aware that there is a precut slot behind the receiver and no filler pieces available. The fit on a Ruger factory receiver has a small gap all the way around as well.
Overall an amazing product. The machining and coating is impeccable not to mention they look badass.
Everything was light, sturdy, rugged, and precise. The only thing was the notched ring was hard to seat in the rear of the stock when tightening down the buffer tube nut for adding a stock. But you cannot beat this product for the price.
